The painting in this series captures the essence of my heritage by drawing inspiration from the intricate beauty of azulejos. On the left, a statuesque figure embodies the traditional representation found in the borders of azulejo panels. This figure resonates with the colours characteristic of Portuguese artistry. Contrasting this, the right side presents a dynamic figure that has transcended the confines of the border. This portrayal embodies freedom and movement, suggesting a departure from the static representations of the past. The use of yellow and fluid lines illustrate a sense of liberation. Together, these figures create a dialogue between tradition and modernity.
